I am sure that we have written before as your name and town sound familiar. By 1850 the Rogers who were descendants of old Doswell b. 1736 basically had gone on down the Valley to Marion and later Sequatchie. There was a John Rogers who married Diliah Jones and they were from Lee Co. VA. I have always felt that he MIGHT be related, but never have found any proof. I know that I do not have the names of all of old Doswell's (1736) grandsons or great-grandsons. John remained in Bledsoe, but some of his kids moved from the county. If I were you, I would track down everyone of his kids + two generations more. It is quite possible that you could find a connection. Remember that the courthouse burned in Bledsoe and Marion. However, they did save some of the records and there are always records in Nashville to fill in some of the gaps. Census records for this area don't begin until 1830. 1. William Rogers b. ca 1805 married Mrs. Kesiah Sawyers Hixson. I don't know if they had issue. 6. Thomas J. Rogers m. Mary Walker in 1836. I don't know the names of their issue. 8. James M. Rogers was born in 1823 and m. Sarah Walker. Issue I have doesn't match yours. 9. John Haywood Rogers b. 1826. M. Martha Maxwell Kirklin. Issue doesn't match yours. 10. George W. Rogers b. ca 1829 m. Amanda Carnes. Issue 11. Daniel Jackson Rogers b. 1831 m. Keziah Kirklin. Issue does not match yours. Bledsoe Co. is writing a history book and they need as many family entires as possible. I suggest you invest in writing a story and buying a book. Notify Administrator about this message?
