There is record of a John and Thomas Jordan in early Bledsoe Co., TN. I think Thomas is the son of John Jordan b. abt 1760 in PA who was listed in the 1790 Census of Stokes Co., NC and was later in this same neighborhood as Thomas in Bledsoe Co. TN. John is listed in Bledsoe Co TN census for 1840-1850, but he is found in earlier records in Bledsoe Co.

9-29-1825 Bledsoe Co TN Deed Book D PG. 274 Isaac Fawcett of Marion Co., TN to John Jordon...$20....tract of land on both sides of Bee Creek.

5-30-1826 Entry #377 the Co of Bledsoe by Hubbard Blaylock ...surveyed 100 acres situated in Cumberland Mt. on the north side of Bee Creek on the Raccoon Branch ...side of a hill...side of a ridge...which is truly represnted by the plat hereunto annexed. Surveyed 10-31-1827. Signed Hubbard Blaylock and Thomas Jordan.

3-19-1828 Evans Phelan of Bledsoe Co TN to John Nail of same Co., $215.00 for a parcel of land in Co. of Bledsoe on Cumberland Mt. on the waters of Bee Creek... surveyed 11-1-1827. signed: Evans Phelan...witnessed: Elijah Tucker, Thomas Jordan. Book D pg. 321

John is also listed in the 1830 White Co., TN census in the area that is future southwest Cumberland Co TN. Near Burrell Driver, Jn Flynn, Terry Fielding, Th Owensby and Hugh Dyer. Bee Creek area. This is the same John of Bledsoe Co., YN because of the neighborhood.

I believe John Jordan is my ancestor and would like to hear from anyone with more info.

Surely the Happy Jordan that is listed with him the 1850 Bledsoe Co., TN census 43 yrs younger than John is can not be his wife? Perhaps a daughter, daughter-in-law or grandaughter even?

What happened to his sons?

Mary Tucker Bell, Cumberland Co TN in the part that was formely Bledsoe Co., TN bef. 1856
