I am looking for more information on JOSEPH LAMBERT b abt 1828 possibly NC, his parents JOHN & NANCY LAMBERT were in Bradley Co TN by 1840.
JOSEPH LAMBERT married a Sophrona around 1850-1851. I am trying to ascertain whether or not her maiden name was Thompson. I have a Sophrona Thompson in Bradley Co TN, sister of my gg grandmother, who appears to have either stayed in TN when the family moved to AR/MO.

Mary Lambert age 11 later married a Samuel Pirkle or Pirkel as per 1860 Bradley TN Census
(Sophrona Thompson/Tompson age 18 listed in Bradley Co TN 26th subdivision with her parents & siblings.)

JOSEPH LAMBERT is listed in the book "Bradley Divided" as a Union Soldier in Company G 5th Infantry. His brother John A Lambert is also listed as a Union Soldier, Company E 4th Cavalry, noted that John died in battle March 23, 1863.

Newton Co Missouri is not too far from Christian, Taney & Douglas Co MO where my Thompsons settled. I think Neosho is the county seat??

I can't as yet find Joseph & Sophronia Lambert in 1900 census, so they may have died before then. At least three of their children remained in Newton Co Granby twp MO and are present in 1900 census: Joseph Lambert, John Lambert and William Lambert. Ona Lambert may have married a Hudson.
Any help or comments greatly appreciated.
