My grandfather always said that his uncle Dan Boone (born in 1864) was murdered when he was a young man. His brothers thought they knew who was responsible, but they couldn't do anything about it, so they all moved to Texas. This would be in the late 1880s, 1890 at the latest. Their mother (Amelia Haigler) had died by this time. Their father (Israel Boone) and sisters remained in Bradley County. I have been able to find out quite a lot about this family, but have not been able to find out about the death of Daniel. The available newspaper indices seem to stop at 1883, which is probably too early.
Does anybody have any ideas?
