Hattie was indeed the daughter of Elijah and Maggie. Charles was the son, and only child, of Hattie and Sheliah. Charles married Polly Owen and was a banker for many years.
Lij ran a store on the square for many years. Sheliah and Hattie were big church goers -- Woodbury Church of Christ, he may have been a deacon also. The two would often host the visiting preachers for a week at a time during the meetings.
