Ambrose-->Rev. John Alexander Brown-->Robert Brown

Especially interested in Robert "Robb" Brown b 1860 Carroll County, died 1919 Memphis, Shelby County, TN when struck by a train. There are four recorded marriages, but he told an interviewer that he had had seven wives. Those on record:

Josephine Pierce...1878. She died before 1891

Marie Eveline Cole..1891...possibly divorced. possibly died

Emma Hunt...1904. probably died 1910

Trophenia Laslee...1913..divorced and she married John A Morgan about 1919. Trophenia divorced Robert claiming he was a womanizer.

He was killed in an accident in Memphis in 1919 and his funeral was paid for by a woman friend at the time.

He had three children by first wife: Virgil, Doss, Effie

Kids by second wife: Carz and Zadie Ola (b. 1891)

Kid by third wife: James Dallas Brown 1908-1973

By fourth wife: Wade R Brown b 1914

Does anyone have any further information on this family? I have spouses and descendants for most everyone except Carz.

When one of the descendants was researching this family years ago she was told that the mother of James Dallas Brown was Emma Pierce or Emma Woodard and that she had been married before and had a daughter, Emily. I am wondering if perhaps Robert had two wives named Emma.

Pat
