Joe,

I am a Hyder descendent. My family and I recently visited the Elizabethton, Carter County area. The Hyder cemetery of which you speak is on private land..on top of a hill...in the middle of a cow pasture. The head stones are mostly very old and worn and hard to read now. There are some that are no more than field stones placed to mark the graves. There is an online inventory of most of the graves in the cemetery on the Carter County US Genweb site. I took some pictures but don't know that they will turn out that well.
