Hi Kim,
Looks really promising that Jennifer Parker who was engaged to my father was Jennie Mae (May) Parker, daughter of Pinkston and Ada (Adda) Holloway Parker. Jennie was born in 1893, the same year as my father, and she is in 1910 census and not in 1920 census. Also, Pinkston and Ada had second daughter Ruby. I remember my father and Aunt Thelma mentioning their childhood friend Ruby Parker on many occasions. I will continue to try to find death record for Jenny.
I knew I had some data re Pinkston Parker. He was also known as "Pink" and "Pinkney" Parker. He was a well to do farmer and justice of the peace for many years and was often witness on many legal documents for my family. Both my father's and mother's family had connection to the Holloway family. Joseph A.Davis, first cousin of my missing Charles W. Davis, married M.F.L. Holloway. Both of them are buried at Old Pisgah.
Pinkston was nephew of I.M.Brug of Van Zant,Tx formerly of Chester Co. I don't know if he was blood relative of Brug or his wife.
I will check further after I get your grandfather's name. I now recall my father pointing out many years ago graves of two Parker twins born ca 1860 and both deceased 1862 in the old Parker Cemetery. Ring a bell? I am almost certain he said their deaths were reportedly caused by Yankee troops operating in the area.
