I am attempting to further identify and obtain any data re the following family enumerated in McNairy County, Tennessee in census of 1850:
1121 Winney Davis 46 f Va
Henry Davis 23 m farmer Va
Joseph Davis 21 m farmer Va
Presley Davis 19 m farmer Va
Martha Davis 17 f Va
Mary Davis 15 f Va
Sarah Davis 13 f Tn
Rebecca Davis 10 f Tn
Elijah Davis 5 m Tn
William Davis 4 m Tn
Nancy Davis 2 f Tn
The following burials at Henderson Cemetery, Chester County are believed to be identical to the above:
Winnie Davis 1804-Feb. 19, 1888 (wife of B. Davis)
P.W. Davis [Presley] Sept 26., 1837-May 17, 1903
The J.A. Davis April 29,1830-October 18, 1902 buried at Pisgah Cemetery, Chester County is believed to be Joseph.
(Wife of J.A. Davis was Martha J. Davis 1833-1890)
This family may be closely related to my progenitor John Egbert Davis who migrated from Virginia (possibly Hampshire County) to Madison County, Tn in 1837 and died ca 1847.
Any information appreciated especially identity of B. Davis husband of Winney.
I have information re both families and I am glad to share what I have.
