Chester County, Tn Marriage Book 4 page 12 shows marriage license issued 19 August, 1916 for marriage of J.C. Davis and Dovie Cherry. Bondsmen were listed as J.C. Davis and E.L. Davis. I strongly suspect E.L. Davis was Egbert LaFayette Davis, my gguncle.
If anyone can furnish any information re J.C. Davis it would be most appreciated.
