I am trying to find out the father of Issac Wheeler Arnwine born abt 1847, married abt 1867 to Phebe Elizabeth Lewis who was born abt 1848 in Claiborne County, Tenn. I believe Issac is the grandson of Daniel Arnwine and the son of John Wesley Arnwine. Issac and Phebe can be found on the 1870 Claiborne census living next to Daniel's son Chesley. It is my assumption that John Wesley died sometime before 1850 and his wife remarried a Jeremiah Ash. I will explain my asumptions below but any help proving or disproving this would be greatly appreciated.

The Ash Connection--. In Frank's (Son of Isaac) personal history letters, he listed people that lived next to their family when Isaac and Phebe (Lewis) moved to Dallas, Arkansas. He states a James Ash, who was Isaac's half brother, married Gertrude Speaks around 1880 and lived near them. He also mentions that a man named Ike Nichols who had married Isaac's sister about 1877. The leads me to believe Issac's mother married an Ash and that Issac moved to Arkansas and lived near his Ash siblings. The letters go on to say that Isaac and Phebe moved in 1884 to Nelson, Indian Territory, south of Antlers, and lived near the James Ash family and Ike Nichol's family in their new location. Isaac went off to in the spring of 1887 and the family never saw him again. His wife and children moved back to Arkansas.

A Cabin Picture--I ran across a picture of a two cabins that my grandfather rumored were moved because of the TVA flooding that occurred in Tennessee. On the back of this picture it lists Phebe Lewis's dates of birth and death, that Isaac and Phebe were married in 1867, and underneath Isaac's name it lists to more names. Wesley A. and Daniel A. I believe this could be a quick list of Isaac's father and grandfather. That is just an assumption, but why else would those two names be listed if they weren't his direct line.

Isaac's Son--Isaac's first son, (which was his third child) was name John Wesley. This son was born to Isaac and Phebe while they lived in Polk County, Arkansas, 11 March 1875

Thank you for your help
