Hello Merrie: I have maps, surveys, etc. of Willow Grove, Tennessee and have located Hogan Hollow just southeast of Willis Bottom. Willis Bottom is a bend in the Obey River where it is stated in the "Sam Smith Papers" that William Hogan (b.1740) brought his two sons (Daniel b.1765 and William Jr.? b. 1777) from his marriage (?) to the Indian woman in Virginia. The story goes that William (b.1740) Married Jennie Rogers ( I say it was James Hogan) here and had several children (Young, Ewing, Micajah, Elizabeth Isabella). This entire area is now under Dale Hollow Lake. I am writing a book on my family and Willow Grove plays a key role in the history of my family.
