Hello Lisa and Merrie: I have the publication "The Dale Hollow Lake Graves" by Gary D. Norris. The St. John Cemetary is located in the eastern end of Clay County just east of the Lillydale Road. Willow Grove Resort is approximately 2 miles west of the site while Lillydale Recreational Area is approximately 1/2 mile to the north. It is said the cemetary was chosen around 1790 as a site by one of the earliest settlers in the area. Many reinterred graves have white crosses for markers. There are 147 known graves reinterred here. William Hogan (b.1777 d.1874) was originally buried in the McMillan Cemetary before being moved to St. John in the early 1940's. Mary Spear is not listed anywhere in this publication. I think I remember reading in William Hogan's pension papers that she moved in with relatives (Kentucky?) after the death of William and was possibly buried with her family in Kentucky. I would also be interested in pictures of this grave sight. I would be willing to reimburse you for copying expenses. Please keep in touch and feel free to e-mail me direct. Tim
