Herrod, David & Shadrick Turner of Jackson/Clay Co., TN 1870c
Searching for info on the Turner families listed in the 1870 census Jackson/Clay Co., TN. They were tanners and mechanic mill right workers.Herod, age 42 had wife Matilda and children Narcelis, Attalous, Buena, Howell, Sterling and Allie B. David, age 70 had wife Elisabeth, age 64.In the household were Shadrick, 32, Mary 30, Nancy 9, Bedford E. 3, Mariah 8/12 and the person I want to more about, since she married my great-grandfather - LOUISA MCCRAKIN, AGE 18. How was Louisa related to this family?
Robert Thomas Beavers, age 19 is shown in the same census as a farm hand in the home of Benjamin Smith and his wife Maranda, both 26. Benjamin born AL, Marinda in KY and Robert in TN.
Robert and Louisa married in Jackson County on 7 Jan 1874, they had a baby girl, Ida Belle Beavers, the following year, and then Louisa died soon afterwards.
Can anyone tell me about these Turner families? I would like to know how Louisa was related to this Turner family, or was she an orphan that lived with them??
