Bob

Might I ask if you have any connections to the Lees of Virginia? I'm researching my Thomas ancestors and my g.grandfather's name was Lawrence Lee Thomas. His father was John Thomas who was most likely (not proven yet) b. 1842 in Washington Co, VA, and died in 1867 before Lawrence Lee Thomas was b. His mother was Mary Breeding, b. 1837 Lee Co, VA, and d/o Squire Breeding.

We've never determined exactly where John Thomas died or is buried. The fact that Mary Breeding Thomas was in Roane/Loudon Co, TN after John's death and for the birth of Lawrence Lee Thomas makes me wonder if John was traveling with her when he died.

His parents are thought to be James and Phebe Van Huss Thomas, b. about 1812 Washington Co, VA and were both said to have died after 1866, before 1870 and their younger children went to live with relatives.

I haven't found any Lees in their ancestry, but I've been told that there are many such relationships with the Thomases. Just curious.

Thanks,Carol
