Charles Case served in the 1st Tenn. He was born in 1830. The son of James Laxton Case & Younaca. I have been trying to find his Civil war record, and am looking for any information on him while in Cocoke county. He married Mary (?) in Cocke County and had three children. After the war he married Eliza Lane in Dade County GA. She was from Bradley County TN. He attended at least one meeting of The Confedrate Veterns. He signed the old log book kept in the Dade probate office. His Obit is in the Dade County Times for Jan 13, 1893. reads as follows

Chas Case Dead
Only a few days ago Charley Case was walking the streets apparently in good       health on last Sunday morning before sic o'clock he was dead. He worked up on Lee Case's barn in very bad weather from which exposure he caught cold. After complications arising hastened his death.

The burial occurred at the Nath Gass burying Ground on Sand Mountain, Tuesday. A widow and six children, some of whom are married, mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father, while the community looses one of its best citizens.

I am looking for any information on the Calvary regiment and info on the Case Family.

Thank you very much, Kim
