I am searching for any info on my great grandfather Robert Martin Collins, born May 10, 1839/1841,TN, who was orphaned in TN after the death of his father, who may be a Lewis Collins. There is a record listed that a Robert M Collins was apprenticed in May 1849 to a Robert M. Haggard,Master, upon death of his father, Lewis Collins.There is also a brother named James W.Collins, also apprenticed to Robert M. Haggard in May 1849. I would appreciate any information on this family, ie; death record or probate record on Lewis Collins about 1849, name of spouse, obituary, place of burial. Supposedly he was related to William Collins who lived along the Duck River in the 1830's. Lewis may be a brother or son to William Collins.
