The names George W. Thompson and George W. Thompson, Jr. are listed in Linda Winters new books “Cemeteries and Tombstone Inscriptions of Coffee County, Tennessee." I don't have my copies yet, they are on order. When they get here I'd be happy to post the information. In the meantime you can view the index at:

I am not affiliated with the author or the book, just appreciative of the effort put in and the help it provides others.
From the previews I viewed of the books, they should give the Cemetery, and usually the date of birth, death, and sometimes the epitaph.
Sorry I do not have the books in my possession (I can't wait to get them). If no one else has responded, I will post the information as soon as I get them. I know the frustration of trying to find information.
