Hello, Sue. Sorry, I don't have anything useful for you. I am researching my Linton family in Coffee Co. I am all but certain that my g.grandfather, Marcus Linton married the Mary J. Harris, daughter from the line of Harris's you mentioned. The Tn. marriages list one M.J.. Linton who m. Mary J.(Jane) Harris, Nov. 1863. This should read M.E. as in Marcus Edward. Marcus and Mary will be found in Kaufman Co., Tx. 1880 census. In 1900 Marcus is married to a Mary L. whose family came from Ms. whereas Mary L. was b. in Tn. I think that I could send for the m. license...it should be available for 1863 in Coffee Co. Anyways, i just wanted to introduce myself. god Bless and good searching. Bob.
