Thank you for your response to my inquiry. I'm grasping at straws here, but keep trying to place my great grandfather, John William Harris. I saw a John listed as son of William and Mary Harris of Coffee County at the right age in the 1850 census. I think he may have come from the Tullahoma area or his parents may have come from there. Some names of neighbors in that census are some of the same names that lived nearby in Henry County, TN. I just can't come up with any conclusive proof though.
