Luther Weldon Doss, 89, of Friendship, died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at his residence.
He was a farmer and a World War II Army combat veteran.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Friendship Funeral Home with Bro. Novis Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Sorrell's Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Lucille Smith Doss of Friendship; two daughters, Shirley Elizabeth Campbell of Reeves and Linda Gale Moise of Orlando, Fla.; three sons, George W. Doss of Friendship, Donnie Sevann Wheeler of Milan and Richard Lynn Doss of RoEllen; a brother, Thomas Doss of Dickson; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was born in Dyer County and preceded in death by his parents, George Washington Doss and Ellen Elizabeth Haynes Doss.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Doss, Michael Doss, Rusty Doss, Michael Landry, Don Hawkins Jr. and Joseph D. Hawkins.
