No, I am not related to this line. Just trying to help: .... Something really strange is going on. I have sent an email to two different people, hoping that they might be able to shed some light on this gentleman. As soon as I hear back from either, or both of them, I will get back to you. Meanwhile, this is what I have found so far. His Son: Social Security Death Index Name: Roscoe Sudbury SSN: 408-05-0836 Born: 12 Mar 1914 Died: Sep 1970 State (Year) SSN issued: Tennessee (Before 1951) ... World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918 Name: Roscoe Conklin Sudbury 211 Woodland Blvd City: Nashville County: Davidson State: Tennessee Birthplace: Friendship, Crockett Co., Tennessee; United States of America Birth Date: 30 Oct 1891 Race: Caucasian (White) Age: 25 Occupation: Salesman - Dixie Automobile Exchange - 1229 Broadway, Nashville, TN Nearest Relative: Wife & 2 children Height/Build: Medium/Medium Color of Eyes/Hair: Blue/Light Brown Signature: June 5, 1917 12th Ward Nashville ... Now, this is really strange to me.... Follow my line of thinking if you can. NO WHERE in Crockett Co., could I find either a Roscoe or Conklin, listed for the 1900 census. Then on the 1910 census, I managed to locate a Rocso, with the proper age, put he was not listed with this same family at the time of the 1900 census. Then I noticed that the head of the house, was a school teacher. MAYBE, he and his wife took Roscoe in at the time of the 1910 census, because he had no parents. I will put down, what I have on this family, and you will see what I am talking about. 1900 Crockett Co., TN - Civil Dict 5 - ED# 4 - June 13, 1900 - page 10B 184/189 Evans, George H. head - July 1852 - 47 - md 18 yrs - TN TN TN - school teacher Rosie V. wife - November 1863 - 36 - had 8/8 living - TN TN TN Clarra V. dau - April 1882 - 18 - TN Ora F. dau - June 1882 - 17 - TN Myrtle L. dau - June 1885 - 14 - TN Thomas R. son - June 1889 - 10 - TN Burnice H. dau - February 1892 - 8 - TN George H. son - March 1895 - 5 - TN William E. son - May 1898 - 2 - TN Jery H. son - February 1900 - 4/12 - TN + 1 white servant (G H Evans / R V Carey / 6 Dec 1881 / Crockett) Now this same couple for the 1910 census. Notice that there is now a young male, who is listed as 18, who was not on the 1900 census. 1910 Crockett Co., TN - Civil Dist 5 - April 27, 1910 - page 3B 55/57 Evans, R. I do not know what happeded to George H., even the 1910 census does not state that Rosie is a widow, just that she had been married 1 time. Anyway, here are her death vitals: Belleview Cemetery, Crockett Co., TN Evans, Rosa Virginia Nov 4 1863 / Mar 13 1927 This is the one child that had died before the 1910 census. Buried in the same cemetery as her mother. Evans, Myrtle Lunette Jun 6 1887 / Apr 21 1904 ... Notify Administrator about this message?
