I am searching for info on Lafayette (Fate)Walker of Putnam Co. TN. First married to Rutha Welch and had 9 children, and then married a Fannie Neeley (not sure of the spelling of her last name) I believe and had 9 more children. Lafayette (Fate) Walker was a successful produce farmer somewhere around the Cumberland Ridge or Gap. Not sure, was told that. He was my great grandfather and I can not seem to find out any information on him to speak of. Rutha, his first wife died in 1910 along with a sister or aunt also called Fannie. Some of Fate's children by Rutha names were: Abraham (A.W.), James Thomas (J.T.), Alex, Catherine (married Eugene Jaquess), Etta, Mattie and Dora. Rutha Welch was the grandaughter of Augustine Lee and Rachel Nichols.

Fannie Neeley would have been the step mother to some of these children. Lafayette (Fate)and Fannie married approx 1916 or there abouts. He was living in Putnam Co. TN at the time..I understand Fannie was about 16 or 18 at the time. Fate was about 54 at the time. I have absolutely no other information on Fannie except later they may have moved to Sand Springs. I am trying to find a little more information on Fannie Neeley. Not sure if Fannie was a nickname. She would have been born approx. 1898 to 1900 possibly. If any of this rings a bell with you about a Fannie Neeley, in TN, could you contact me please to see if this may be a Neeley that you have been researching or have knowledge of.. Judy... jmc@sw.rr.com
