I am looking for information on a James A. Smith born March 1845 and married Mary E. Mayo in Decatur Co., TN on 14 March 1872.
They had the following children: Rosanna 1873, Leona 1875, John M. 1880, Joe 1882, Alenti 1884, James 1887, Willie 1889. and Mary E. 1893.
This family is listed in the 1880 and 1900 Decatur Co., Census. But in 1910 only Mary with listed with her youngest
daughter Mary. Mary states she is a widow. Also by 1920 there is no listing in the census for Mary.
I have searched all the cemetery records for Decatur Co., and have found no listing for Mary or James.
If only the name could have been something other than SMITH!!
Can anyone help me with my brick wall?
