Looking for information on ggrandparents William Johnson and wife Emma who moved from Va. to Tn. Abt. 1865/70, and settled in Haywood and Tipton Co. Tn., and had 6 children. They appeared on the 1880 census of Tipton Co., Tn. as Johnson J. W. 45, Emma 38, Nellie 15, Nora 12, J. W. 8, Charley 5, Frank 3, Sam 10/12. Charles Leroy Johnson b: Brownsville, Haywood Co., Tn. May 26, 1875 moved to Dyersburg Dyer Co.,Tn. m: Laura Lee Haney and had at least two daughters #1 Elvaneil "Johnson" McGuire b: April 19, 1905 in Newborn, Dyer Co.,Tn. #2 Mary Ivadelle "Johnson" Wilkerson b: May 9, 1906 in Dyersburg, Dyer Co.,Tn. Samuel Gleves Johnson b: August 23, 1879 in Covington, Tipton Co.,Tn. m: Lew "Ireland" Johnson April 14, 1904 moved to Jackson, Madison, Co.,Tn. Sam worked for the Rail Road for 35 years, until his death in June 6, 1953. San and Lew had 2 sons L'wick and Karl Johnson. Imformation on letters and pictures show one of the girls of William and Emma married into the Hurt family and lived in Montgomery, Montgomery Co., Al. in early 1920/30 The Hurt family names known to me are Floyd, Bobby J., Webb, Jessie and Mary Howell. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.
