JEREMIAH PIERCE ~ wife Parker or Martin

Jeremiah Pierce md Sally Parker, 19 Nov 1813 in Davidson Co, TN [from marriage index]. Is this the Jeremiah b 26 Dec 1796, who was the son of James Pierce and Margaret Dungan? I have more on the Pierces from VA to early East TN. I thought son Jeremiah was named for Margaret's father, Jeremiah Dungan.

Some researchers think the Jeremiah who married Sally Parker is a brother to John Pierce who was son of Thomas and Celia Pierce. This John was an early settler in Dyer Co, TN. John was married to Augusta Davis. John and a Jeremiah both settle in Dyer Co, TN. Are they brothers, or are they cousins????

Add to this on the Pierce DNA website James Pierce is shown as "related" to the Thomas Pierce who had the wife Celia with the above John as one of their sons. I think Thomas and James on the DNA website are brothers. Early land records in Greene Co, NC/TN show James and a Thomas on a couple of records together. I have more clues pointing to James and Thomas being brothers, plus an unproven link to a father in VA.

Sifting through old posted information looks like there could be one Jeremiah with two wives, Sally Parker and Nancy Martin. Or, maybe two different Jeremiahs. Looking for researchers with some sources so we can work out this problem.

I just returned from a week in Salt Lake City and glad to share what I found in the Family History Library on this Pierce line. Will follow up on any new clues on my next trip to SLC.
