I've also learned that my mother's father, John Dee Richie, had a brother William that lived in Steele, Pemiscot County, Missouri.

Looking thru my parents papers, I found a picture of his family that has the following inscription on the back: (My oldest brother had written the inscription.)

"Ran she repair store and popcorn stand in Steele, Missouri, for years, then moved to Bragadosia, Missouri (1935). Gr Uncle Bill Richie, his only child Jewel and her two children."

I've been able to trace my family's move from Missouri to Connersville, IN and found out that John Dee Richie's parents were George Richie and Susan Cross (b.1844 d:1938).

John Dee, himself was born 7 Mar 1874 in Richmond, Tennessee and died 26 Feb 1946 in Connersville, In. I visited his grave Monday and obtained his death certificate from the Fayette County Board of Health in Connersville. That's where the name's of his parents come from.

If I could just figure out how to trace my family further back to their ancestors from Tennessee, I be a happy fellow.
I'm looking at nothing but dead ends so far! I looked up Richmond, Tennessee on the map and it is in Bedford County, in the mid-southern part of the state.

Any help appreciated! Thanks Mike Wallace for your help so far.

Bill
