I have just seen an article about the Battle of Newburn/Newbern that was printed in the Raleigh, North Carolina Standard newspaper. Paschal Gower was listed as having been killed or taken prisoner.

Believe it was just a coincidence that an E P Gower was connected with Newbern TN and New Bern (the correct spelling) NC.
