Was there any death records in Fayette County between the years 1880 and 1900? My great-grandparents Joshua and Mary Davis died around 1885 but don't know if they died in Fayette County or possibly in Ark. where some of the family went. Also don't know when or where my other great grandfather William Cross died.
My Davis and Cross family traveled from Sullivan Co. Tn. after 1870 via Georgia evidently by wagon train. My grandmother used to talk about coming over Lookout Mt. in a covered wagon. Some of the families traveling with them was a LLoyd family, family of Samuel Fitzgerald, Aaron Rigsby, the Sneed family and possibly others. My grandparent Samuel E. Davis and Martha Jane Cross married in Fayette in 1872.
Any help on death certificates will be appreciated.
