I am researching my ancestor, Isaac Rohm. His father, Jacob (Bob), came from the Bavarian Palatines during the Revolutionary War. He settled in Lincoln County, NC in the part that became Gaston County. There his son Isaac was born March 31, 1790. Jacob was listed in the 1790 census as 1 male 16 and up, 2 males 16 and under, and three free white females. Isaac married Sarah Woods, daughter of John and Sarah Woods Jan. 29, 1815. They purchased land on Mountain Creek in Rutherford County, NC. They had five children: David b. 1816, Jacob b. 1818, John b. 1820, Isaac b. 1823, and Margaret b. 1825. Isaac served in the War of 1812 in the First Regiment of Rutherford County, NC. Around 1832, Isaac left his wife and family and married Elizabeth Ward (b. 1814) and moved to the Overton/Fentress County, TN area. There he and Elizabeth had 9 children. He was a preacher and a miller. Isaac died in 1862 in Travisville, Fentress County, TN. I would like any information on this family: deeds, month and day of death, where buried, any info. If he has a marker for his grave, I would like to know where it is located. Thanks for any help you might offer. Jean McSwain Notify Administrator about this message?
