I have a William Adkins (b abt 1827) who married Nancy Delk. Their son Wyatt (b abt 1848) is my ancestor. I have a photocopy of any article that appeared in a book HISTORY OF FENTRESS COUNTY TENNESSEE. The article was written by Virgina Zeboski. In it, she says that my William Adkins is believed to be son of Jesse and Sarah Adkins. She also says that William and Nancy Adkins lived in Knox Co., TN in 1850 and in Fentress Co. in 1860. I do indeed find William and Nancy and the children in Fentress Co. in 1860. I cannot, however, find them in Knox Co. in 1850 - or anywhere else for that matter. Can anyone tell me about the evidence that William was a son of Jesse and Sarah Adkins? And can anyone help me find William and Nancy in Knox Co. in 1850, as Mrs. Zeboski states?
