The Gillespie DNA Project needs male Gillespie descendants of George Gillespie of Amherst Co. VA to take the DNA test.

GROUP 13 – Haplogroup R1b1c is the most common haplogroup in European populations. It is believed to have expanded throughout Europe as humans re-colonized after the last glacial maximum 10-12 thousand years ago. This lineage is also the haplogroup containing the Atlantic modal haplotype.

These two DNA participants are a genetic distance of 5 which places them at the edge of relatedness. We need more test participants from each line to refine these results.
