The Gillespie DNA Project needs male Gillespie descendants of George Gillespie of Amherst Co. VA to take the DNA test.

GROUP 13 Haplogroup R1b1c is the most common haplogroup in European populations. It is believed to have expanded throughout Europe as humans re-colonized after the last glacial maximum 10-12 thousand years ago. This lineage is also the haplogroup containing the Atlantic modal haplotype.

These two DNA participants are a genetic distance of 5 which places them at the edge of relatedness. We need more test participants from each line to refine these results.
