I would like to correspond with someone who knows something about these families. On the l920 census of Gibson Co., Tn. R. Smith age 47 has two children living with him. They are son Harley and daughter Buna who I know married Layfette "Fat" Dodd and lived in Jackson, Tn. Harley I know nothing about. R. Smith also had a son Ernest Booker Smith who died in a car wreck in 1939. He was the father to my half-sister. From his obit I know that he had a brother Carl ( Nona was his wife and Mozelle his daughter.) and a sister who was Mrs. Harmon McCartney. From the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery I found them and the names of Harmon's parents. In the Idlewild-Pounds Cemetery I found Ernest Booker next to Etta Mae Smith who I believe could have been his first wife. They had two sons Marcus and Frank, one of them was called Junior. I believe that they were supposed too have gone to Texas possibly after 1935 when their mother die but that might make them to young to take off on their own.
I would like any tidbit that anyone could give to help. I don't know the mother's maiden name and Booker's first wife's name. Could there be any McCartney descendents that would know anything about these people. Any help would be greatly appreciated.. Brenda Evans Johnson
