Hello,
I have a Barnett Good Smith b. abt. 1829 TN married to Malvinia (not completely sure what her maiden name is). They married about 1850 in TN. Their known children are James T. Smith b. abt 1851 TN; Mary E. Smith b. abt 1854 TN (my line, she married James Harvey Jenkins) Margaret Smith b. abt. 1856 TN; William B. Smith b. abt. 1858 TN; Andrew J. Smith b. abt 1861 Stoddard County, MO; Arminta Smith b. abt. 1865 Stoddard County, MO; Sarah (or perhaps Lora) Smith b. abt. 1867; and Ida Smith b. abt. 1869 Stoddard County, MO. I found this family from the 1860 census forward in Stoddard County, MO and I think I traced Barnett back to Gibson county, TN, but not completely sure because this person was listed as B. G. Smith. He was listed there in the 1850 census living next door to a Medlin family that had a daughter named Malvinia. There is a marriage in Gibson county for a B. G. Smith and Malvinia Medlin 2 Dec 1850. Is anyone researching this Smith family that can tell me for certain that the Barnett Good Smith in Stoddard County is the same B. G. Smith in Gibson County Tennessee? I will cross-post this with the Gibson County forum and Smith forum as well. Any information on this family would be appreciated.
