In 1880 census there are two families of Philips and Phillips. In Baileys there is a John L. Phillips, 42, with wife Verginia C., 37, son John C. (believe this should be John M.-for Marion-(17) and daughter Kate (1).
John L. is my GG GF. In Hickory Grove there is a family consisting of John's mother , Mary Philips (spelled w/ one L), 68, and JOhn's siblings, Nannie(F-38); Joseph (M-35);Sallie (F-33); William M-30); Wilson (M-28), Mollie (F-24); Robert (M-22) and 3 children of Joseph -- Mattie,10; Nannie, 8 and Josie,6. Can anyone tell me where this family went from Gibson Co.? Mary is not listed in any of the cemeteries, nor any of the others that I can tell. Any help would be appreciated.
