Seeking any information on Oglesby surname in Gibson County. Especially welcome would be date of first and last appearance in tax records, wills, etc.
I know my Richard C. Oglesby arrived in the county some time before 1830. Also a brother or cousin of his, Elisha Oglesby, and probably Richard's brother James S. Oglesby as well.
Richard moved out between 1840 and 1850, but I would like to narrow the date down a bit. I would also like to know if any other Oglesby people come up in the records.
Anything would be of tremendous help as Richard has been an almighty pain to trace before he pops up in Gibson County.
