I am looking for any information regarding a Rufus Grisel/Griswell and his sister Marietta. Rufus was born in Memphis,TN in 1860 or 1862. I do not know who their parents were. The family story is that Rufus and his sister went west sometime after 1870 to Oregon with another family, no mention of what happened to their parents. The family they went west with may be BEARDEN from Giles County.

I can find Rufus (m. Ella Cooper) in the 1880 census in Modoc County Ca./Lake County Or.

Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you.
