Thanks and I don't know how I missed that since I had all the other information and in answer to the question: The Payne Connection : this is what I have concerning the name Payne....Wilson Payne Davis b 1808 Ky m Sarah Sally Cowden b 1814 N. C. His sister is Rhoda Davis m Cowden m my paternal gg grandfather James Monroe Brents..so did they originally marry brother and sister on the Cowden side..I need to look into that.. and I have seen it stated that Rhoda and James Monroe may have been cousins and the only connection I have found there is thru the McWhorter side.. Their parents are : William Davis b ky d 11/7/1854 Marshall Co Tn m Polly McWhorter on Nov 7 1802 in Wayne County Ky and she was b in Ky and died Marshall County Tn.. And of course James Monroe and Rhoda named their first son Wilson Payne b 1843 d aft 1910 and this is what I have in my notes on Wilson Payne Brents shows him a school teacher in 1870 age 26 in house with James Monroe Brents in 15th district Lincoln co. shows him a farmer in 1880 married and living in own household in district 10 in Lincoln Co.with victoria 1910 still living with victoria with 6 children 4 living farmer married 34 years Red Oak and Petersburg Rd dist 15 Lincoln Co Tn In 1920 Victoria and Madge and Eva were living in Giles Cty Tn... under Mrs. V. T. Brents in 1920 census So I don't have the connection but assume it may be on the McWhorter side so maybe someone else can help us there.. Notify Administrator about this message?
