No, my Sterling Davis was born 1848 and married Sarah Katherine Long in Grainger County. Sterling does not seem to be a common name, so with that in mind may there be a family connection with your Sterling, a common ancestor that the name has been passed down to. To have 2 Sterling Davis's in Grainger county around the same time may indicate
some relationship.
