Hello,

I have also been searching for the poor farm and spoke with a representative from the T. Elmer Cox Historical Society in Greeneville today.

He advised me that the Poor Farm was located at the intersection of Poor Farm Rd., Industrial Rd., and Coile St. He said that the Poor Farm and the cemetery was destroyed in the late 1950's to early 1960's. He stated that the Poor Farm was built over and there are no traces that it or the cemetery were ever there.

He then told me that he had a listing of individuals that were buried there. I am assuming that he could only obtain information from death certificates after 1908, since this is when it was mandatory to maintain them.

Hope this helps.

Keshia
