Looking for descendants and information on the family of William Buff and Vina (Vinney) Emeline Swink, originally from Burke County, North Carolina. Also, William's second marriage to the widow Tennie Maness. William was the son of Joseph Buff and Fannie Cook. Vina was the dtr. of of Harrison Swink and Emeline Lail. William took his family from NC and according to the 1910 census, was living in Militia District 9, Catoosa Co., Ga. It is belived that Vina died between 1911 and 1920. The last account of her was in 1911, when their youngest child, Julius was born. It is also believed that Vina is buried in an unmarked grave at Peavine Cemetery in Walker Co., Ga. By 1920, William was in Civil District 2, Hamilton Co., TN. He is listed as "widow" in the 1920 census. Tennie had 2 children from her previous marriage, Myrtle c1911 and George c1913. They are listed as step-children to William, however; their last name is shown as Buff on the census. William and Tennie had 2 children together. Willie Z. c1922 and Dorval B. c1925 William Buff (1869-1960) is buried at Harmony Cemetery in Section, Jackson Co., GA. along with his second wife, Tennie Maness Buff (1888-1972) Alonzo Peter died in 1968 in Catoosa Co and is buried in Ringgold at Anderson Cemetery, along with his wife Maude Blackwell (1894-1969). John Burgess Buff (1896-1962) is also buried in Ringgold at Anderson Cemetery, along with his wife Maude Blackwell (1894-1969) Grady Emeline Buff(1894-1970) married Vernon L. Stewart (1902-1990) and are buried at Mount Zion Cemetery in Section, Catoosa Co. Ga. To my knowledge, there 4 children: Lawrenc, J. B., Robbie, and Bonnie. Fannie Buff(1901-1984) married (unknown) Harris. Fannie is buried in Fort Oglethorpe, Catoosa, Georgia. William M. and Zora C. died prior to 1910. This is all I know of this family, other than the information I have on the ancestors of William H.
