Hello! I am also trying to find out were my wife's Roberts came from. Her grandmother was Elizabeth Roberts d/o
Andrew and Nancy Dowlen (Dowlin) Roberts from the Falling Water area. Andrew was the son of Emerson Roberts and Sarah McCallie. If this is the right Elijah Roberts he was also a son of Emerson Roberts. He was born 8 Oct 1851 and died 28 March 1913 and is buried in the Roberts Cemetery.
He married Martha Jane Barker d/o John H. Barker and Nancy Easterly. She was born Oct 1848. They were married
7 March 1872 in Hamilton County. I have Emerson's father as Ninyan Roberts and that is as far as I can prove. With the help of Dan Robird, we have dug up more info on the Roberts to maybe put together a good guess. We have found that the Roberts of Roberts Mill area are not related to the Roberts in the Lookout Valley and Georgia area. My wife's maiden name was Grayson. Her grandfather was James Anderson Grayson, who married Elizabeth Roberts. They ran a dairy on Signal Mountain in the early 1930's. We live in the Hixson area. I well be happy to exchange info on the Roberts with you. Let me know.

Dennis
