I assume that you mean Sgt. Zara PARKER of Company G, in the Union's 22nd Michigan Infantry Regiment. First, here's the info for his pension file: His widow Hannah PARKER filed for a pension on May (10? 18?), 1864. Application 51399, Certificate 119991. If you don't have the file, might be worth getting a copy (along with Zara's compiled military service record). Both available from the National Archives. This site: http://gravelocator.cem.va.gov/j2ee/servlet/NGL_v1 lists all the burials in the Chattanooga National Cemetery, as well as thousands more throughout the country. I did not see Zara, or any Parker that looked valid. There is a microfilmed National Cemetery Interment Register (c1930's) in the Chattanooga Library that conceivably could list him. If you'd like, I can check on it this week. If a gravesite can be located for him, I'll be glad to send you a digital photo (no charge). It's possible that he could have been buried elsewhere in the area, either marked or unmarked. Notify Administrator about this message?
