I may have some information. My 4xgreat grandmother was a Rhea or Ray. Her parents lived in Rural Vail Whitfield County GA they Were Stephen and Barbary you can locate them in the 1860 Census. They also have a son named Samuel It seems to be a family name. Stephens parents were James and Harriet he had a brother that was born 1847 named Samuel they are from Green Co TN if I am not mistaken also try Rhea County oddly enough
