Hi,
I might have a lead for you. This line of Ammons are ancestors to some of the Sasser family who live/lived in Middleton, Hardeman Co., TN. I have this information from research on my grandfather's family.
John W. Ammons and Sarah Jane (Unknown) had 7 children but I only have information on 2 of their daughters.
1) Susan Francis Ammons m. Joel Steven Sasser (lived & died in Middleton, TN -- They had several children, at least 4 who lived to be adults (see below**);
2) Sarah Elizabeth Ammons m. William Henry Jernigan -- she died in Hardeman Co. in 1890 and he and their children moved to Texas.
**Children of Susan Francis Ammons and Joel Steven Sasser:
(1) Son, Walter Bell Sasser m. Lara Mae Williams
(2) Daughter, Francis Ruth Sasser, m. Willis Hensley
(3) Son, Morgan Tilden Sasser (no info on marriage)
(4) Son, Claude M. Sasser m. Blanche Walker (both died in Hugo, Choctaw, OK)
