Hello Donna, The above was written about my husband's great-great grandfather, Willliam Thomas McKee Sr, and includes the Foster and Tillman men. While I don't have specific info I do know that many folks left Hardeman County during the Civil War as the county was occupied for much of the war time by the Union Army. A brother of William Thomas McKee Sr named John McKee married Louisa FOSTER about 1855 - they went to Dyer Co TN just after 1860. The Tillmans married some of the Bizzell girls, and perhaps vice versa, and the Bizzells married with this McKee family about three different siblings. (you can see these marriages if you run search on BIZZELL genforum for MCKEE). These folks all seem to have left HR Co TN - several moved to Tipton and Lauderdale and some went to Greene Co Mo and possibly Newton Co MO. They were together in the general area of Rutherford and Wilson Co TN before traveling to HR Co TN in the 1830 - 1840 era. My husband's folks detoured thru Franklin Co Alabama where Ambrose McKee, father of William Thomas McKee Sr, is listed residing in the Russellville area. I believe the Fosters were there at that time but don't know about Tillmans. Perhaps some of this will help. Linda McKee
