Diana, I would agree with your conclusion as to the relationship of the apparent sons to the apparent father. That is for certain a logical conclusion. If by chance they were not father and son they would probably be uncles and cousins. I have some hard copy on Foster put away and I will pull the file and see if I have any more information. I have asked one of my husband's cousins still living in Bolivar to see if she has any input to this thread and perhaps she will post. Another location where members of this bunch were at the same time they were in Hardeman County TN was Panola County MS during the 1840 and 1850 era. One of the greataunts of the John McKee at HR Co TN on the 1850 census I posted earlier in this thread was married to Issac HERRON at Mecklenburg Co NC and they lived in Panola County MS after going thru KY and Rutherford Co TN. It seems to me that Francis McKee Foster and her new husband were in Panola at some close time to that but I will see if I have any info on that. Hardeman Co seemed to be a spreading out point for the sons of these surnames we are talking about - they went in all directions, sometimes back where they came from. Linda McKee
