Rev Richard Dabbs had a son Christopher H Dabbs. I have located a marriage bond from Hardeman Co for C H Dabbs and S S Hunt, December 5, 1834. I also find a Christopher H Dabbs in Louisiana married to Julia W Mose March 3, 1945.
I believe in the 1840 census in Louisiana it enumerates Christopher, wife (S.S.(Salina Hunt?)), children, (Christopher Jr, daughter Salina), in the household.
I believe the other two people in that census could be Christopher's younger siblings, Susan and Henry. Susan married in Wilson Co, TN in 1841 and Henry never married and died in Davidson Co, TN while living in the Household of his brother's widow, Mrs. John R (Eliza) Dabbs.
So this 1840 census would mean that his 1st wife died there in LA after moving from TN sometime between this last census of hers and Christopher's marriage to his second wife Julia Muse(Mose). His second wife Julia is listed with him in the 1850 LA census along with his children by his first wife and his children by Julia.
I know you have been researching the Dabbs of Hardeman Co. Have you come across the family of S.S. Hunt, her parents or whoever???? there in Hardeman County, TN? Have you found any information on a C H (Christopher H Dabbs, wife S.S. Dabbs). Also my research on Christopher has found his obit in the LA newspaper and it gives his middle name as Hunt. Do you know of any other Hardeman Co Hunt's connected to the Dabbs whereas Christopher may have be given a middle name of Hunt and then married a Hunt?
I think the son Christopher must have died and the daughter Salina(Selina) never married. I think I may have found her on census records. Some people researching Dabbs, transcribes Salina's name from the census records as Sylvia, but if you relook at that census with the knowledge of her name being Salina, you can see that it is not Sylvia. I know you may not be researching these Dabbs, but thought you may have come across some info from Hardeman Co that you could pass on to me.
