You are "spitting in the wind" so to speak. The marriage records of Hawkins County were burned by the Confederates during the Civil War in 1865. A Clerk of the Court recovered as many as he could from "carbonized" records. Any record before 1865 should be considered to be suspect because of this. The only reliable records for the pre-Civil War era are Circuit court records and Federal pension files. Notify Administrator about this message?
