Census, House # 106: Elizabeth Whitis 59, Wesley 26, Miram 24(m),and Angeline 19, House #107: has Thomas Whitis 30, Elizabeth 29, Jesse 3, Sarah 5, and Martha 8/12, House # 108: John Whitis 32, J.Susan 23,Morion 9(m), Francis 5 (f) John 3, and Amanda 5/12.Also in Marriage book..1789-1866, there is a Patsy Whitis married Claiborne Russell Aug.16 1836, Several Whitus families including a John Roberts and family left Hawkins County for KY about 1853, (Hawkins County People Book).
